Is anybody home?

I have been away from my blog for some time now, regrettably.  Finally taking a minute for myself to do something! My life has taken a turn for the crazy. At the end of May my husband got a new job an hour away from were we are/were living and now we are in the process of moving.  Moving has brought up some really unexpected emotions in me.  I am not an emotional person, so me becoming weepy about leaving my house has really caught me off guard.  We had set the goal of moving to another city quite awhile ago, so this change was not a surprise.  It has been very hard for me to say good bye to a house that we made a home together.  So now, we have moved almost everything out and my once cozy happy home is, well, sort of half empty and sad.  We are now living this transient life of staying with our parents while trying to get our house ready to be on the (god-awful) Market.  For me, it is a little heartbreaking.  I am living with my parents in one town and my husband with his in another.  Hopefully it will all be over soon.  Although, I have a feeling it will not be soon enough.

To Cloth Diaper or Not?

I have been turning over in my mind whether I am going to start cloth diapering Ky.  She is currently going through 4-5 diapers a day, which is half what is was when she was a newborn.  I have a lot more disposables left in my stash so I was thinking I could add maybe one or two cloths in at a time to our rotation and see how it goes.  I think the deciding point for me was all of the trash that disposable diapers produce. I took out her diaper trash and was surprised at how heavy it was.  It just doesn't seem right to me to continue on this wasteful path when I could prevent it completely.  I have started hanging out with some momma's who cloth diaper and it has helped me see that it isn't so "scary and gross".  I guess education and exposure to cloth diapering have gone a long way for me.  I feel like I am slowly turning in to a hippie momma!  Wish us luck!

She has been working on crawling for about 2 weeks now and she has finally, almost perfected it!

Uncle Alex plays at Rupp!

This past Sunday K's uncle, Alex, had a championship game for his YMCA basketball league.  It was very exciting because they got to play at Rupp Arena.  We all went to support him and we even made signs!  Chris and I were both kicking ourselves because we had no idea we would be able to go onto the floor and take pictures.   So that is why she isn't in her Kentucky cheerleading outfit. :(   Chris and K even got to tour the locker room!  Here are some pictures!

At halftime a bunch of kids went out on the the court to play, we took this opportunity to get some pictures of K.  That is her cousin Coleson in the background with the basketball.

After halftime, K was very worn out from all of the picture taking so she fell asleep on Daddy.

But after the game was over she was finally ready to have her picture taken!

K is 6 months and...

We are all sick!  K wanted to make sure we all spent her 6 month birthday together, so she got Mommy and Daddy sick!  Mommy and Daddy were going to go out to eat for Valentine's Day but since we are all sick, I think we will stay in and order a pizza instead.

Jake's Outdoor Adventure!

So this morning like every other morning I let Jake out back to do his business.  Typically he is only outside for maybe 2 minutes, and it was snowing pretty hard so I was pretty surprised when I had to call him inside.  This is what I got.  The picture does not do justice, he had mud all over his nose, face, neck and chest.  And don't get me started on those PAWS! 

Turns out the dog next door must of smelled really good because he decided to try to dig under the fence! Note the sad face he is making, as I let him know that digging is not okay.

So of course he had to get a long over due bath.

Now he is super happy and clean!  He also promised to never do it again...

Mmm Hmm Fruit!

Just recently I bought some food holders and K loves them!  I put ice cubes, apples or oranges in them and she goes to town!!  Here are some pictures of her munching away!

Ky tries solids!

After talking with our pediatrician about some of Ky's sleep/fussiness issues, he suggested we try solids.  I had been exclusively breastfeeding, with some pumping on the side.  She isn't a huge fan of the plain rice cereal, but with a little breast milk or apple juice she doesn't mind it as much.
